House rules
For a pleasant stay and your (and our) safety.
These hotel regulations contain the most important house rules in place at Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee. We ask you to read and follow these rules.
- The management, the owner of this location and/or employees of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee cannot be held liable for any injury and/or material or immaterial damage that visitors to Hotel Meyer (hereinafter: "guests") may endure.
- All instructions given by Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee employees in connection with the house rules or in the event of an emergency must be followed. Complaints can be reported to the management.
- The management is authorised to remove guests who behave in an undesirable manner and/or do not comply with these house rules and deny access to Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee. The amount already paid for the room will not be refunded in that case.
- Corridors, emergency exits, lifts and escape routes must remain free of obstacles at all times.
- It is forbidden to use emergency exits as regular entrances or exits.
- Guests are not allowed to eat and/or take their own drinks on the terrace, in the bar or in the restaurant. It is possible to bring your own bottles of drink with you after written consent from the management, after paying ‘corkage’.
- Property of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee, including glassware, may not be taken outside the building. It is also not permitted to place items outside the room in the corridor. Hotel room furniture is not suitable for the balcony or terrace.
- It is not allowed to burn tea lights, candles, incense, oil or other products on your room/ balcony. The fire alarm is very sensitive and can be triggered when using these or similar products.
- Smoking cigarettes, e-cigarettes or other tobacco is not permitted at Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee, including balconies and terraces. Smoking cigarettes or e-cigarettes is only permitted on the bach side of the Hotel. If an employee of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee discovers that smoking has occurred or is occurring somewhere (including any perceived smell of cigarette smoke), a €150 fine will be charged immediately. If the guest continues to smoke, or if the guest is unable to pay this amount, access to Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee will be denied immediately. The amount already paid for the room will not be refunded in that case.
- If the fire alarm goes off as a result of the use of the aforementioned products or smoking as referred to above, this will entail costs that will be recovered from the guest. This also applies to removing, sabotaging or covering the smoke detectors. These costs include (but are not limited to) additional cleaning costs, loss of revenue (no longer being able to rent out the room) and call-out fees for the fire department.
- Certain decorations such as confetti or hanging up decorations by means of pins or tape, is not permitted in the rooms or outside. At the reception you can find out which type of decoration is or is not allowed.
- Cameras have been installed in various places throughout Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee. Everyone who is in Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee agrees to the recorded images being made. In the event of emergencies and/or incidents, these recordings can be shown to third parties as supporting evidence. The camera policy is described in the GDPR regulations of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee.
- Parties and/or other gatherings involving loud music, improper behaviour or noise of any kind in hotel rooms or public areas is not permitted.
- Only the reserved and confirmed guests are allowed to stay in the rooms. All guests must register at the check-in desk at the reception, partly due to safety regulations.
- Renting the room in the name of a guest who is not staying in the room is not allowed.
- If rooms are left damaged, extremely dirty, smelling of smoke, urine or faeces or otherwise left dirty or destroyed, the cleaning, repair and labour costs will be charged to the guest. If this leads to a loss of revenue because the room cannot be rented out temporarily, the guest will also be charged for these damages. In some cases, this can also lead to immediate removal and/or denial of access in the future, liability and/or reporting to the police, without any refund on the amount already paid for the room.
- It is forbidden to place nails, screws or other objects in or on the walls, floors, ceilings or furniture. It is not permitted to move or remove fixed furniture.
- The possession, use or sale/purchase of prohibited or narcotic substances, such as drugs and weapons, but also nitrous oxide and/or whipped cream capsules is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate expulsion and reporting to the police, without any refund on the amount already paid for room.
- Everyone must respect and not interfere with any employees of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee or any guests. Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee is a safe and tolerant environment, where everyone must be treated with respect. There is a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to bullying, racism, harassment, sexual harassment, violence and abuse.
- Prostitution and/or sexual activities in exchange for money are not permitted at Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee. If such activities are detected, they shall be reported immediately to the police. This will also lead to immediate removal without any refund on the amount already paid for the room.
- If theft, destruction or any other crime is committed, the police will be notified immediately.
- Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee, the Management Team and the employees of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee are in no way liable for the theft, loss or damage of personal property. Each room has a safe that can be used free of charge. Keep your valuables in this safe.
- Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee does not provide alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 18. If in doubt, employees are entitled to ask for a valid proof of identity.
- Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee employees have the right to intervene in the event of (excessive) alcohol consumption.
- It is forbidden to use the Wi-Fi network at Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee for illegal activities and/or to install private networks or routers.
- In the event that a guest has the "do not disturb card" placed on their door, Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee will respect their privacy and will not clean the room. Items such as towels and toilet paper will then be placed in a bag in front of the door.
- A room will not be cleaned if a guest or pet is present.
- Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee respects the privacy of all guests. However, the management and staff are authorised to enter rooms in the event of a violation of these house rules, or in the event of an emergency, as well as when it is necessary to evacuate the room and remove the guest from the hotel.
- It is not permitted to make images of guests, employees and/or the management of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee, as well as of their property, without the written permission of the management of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee.
- Items found must be handed in at the reception.
- Unfortunately, we are not allowed, from the NVWA (the Dutch Authority of Food and Consumer Product Safety), to store guests' food items in our refrigerators or freezers.
Medication from our guests that need to stay cool can only be stored in a special refrigerator. You can drop these at the reception and they can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. If the reception is busy, it may take a while before they can be picked up. - In all cases not provided for in these regulations, the management of Beach Hotel Bergen aan Zee will decide on the matter.

Dog house rules
- Before entering the hotel, please check that your dog is dry and does not leave mud tracks; We love dogs but not seals.
- Make sure your dog listens and is not a nuisance to the other guests. Not everyone likes dogs and finds a friendly dog greeting too much of a problem;
- If you bring your dog to our hotel, please indicate this when making your reservation. This is because we have a limited number of rooms in which pets are allowed;
- Dogs are allowed only in a limited number of rooms/apartments assigned by our reception staff.
- Dogs are not allowed to sit on our hotel beds, armchairs.
- For bringing a dog during an overnight stay in our hotel there is a surcharge of € 20.00 per night.
- It is not allowed to leave your dog alone in the hotel room when you are not in the hotel yourself. If you are using the restaurant, bar or function rooms, you must notify the reception desk so that we can reach you in case of noise pollution;
- For damages to the interior, the owner of the dog will be liable for the repair costs;
- If we have to compensate other guests due to nuisance caused by your pet, these costs will be charged to the dog owner;
- We reserve the right to charge additional cleaning fees in case of excessive soiling of the room;
- In case of persistent noise nuisance, such as barking, we reserve the right to remove the dog from the hotel. Removal due to nuisance does not entitle to a refund;
- In the hotel and on the terrace dogs must always be leashed;
- We are accommodating as a hotel, but bringing more than one dog is not allowed;
